I'm home again! I got back last night at 11pm. There is so much to tell and it will probably sneek in every so often. It was so nice to sleep in my own futon.
Today I went and got my hair cut. Short, short, short. Almost all of the brown is gone now, so gracing my head is a shiny sterling silver sea urchin. I went to the Frontier branch tonight and no one recognized me at first. They were all very surprised. They haven't seen me for a month and when I left I had brown hair, so it is quite a shock for them. I love my new do!
After my haircut I went to spend more money and got a Mini Disc player. They're popular in Japan. I plan on using it in my classes and maybe I can get some more Japanese music too.
I got two new CDs while I was in Kyoto. I was browsing a 70's clothing store when I heard the most relaxing music. It turned out to be a Japanese band called "Ego Wrappin". The two songs that I heard in succession were very soft tunes, so I was surprised to get the CDs home and hear some lively jazz as well. Nice.
I'm trying to stay cool. Very difficult thing to do in August in Japan. I'm still cokeless (as in cola) and drinking my water religiously, so those good habits continue. I thought I'd miss having a coke while sitting at home with my computer, but, so far, so good.
Ok, I will sift through my memories of Kyoto and put font to diary page.
