Friday, November 1st is my birthday. I will be 43 years old. I am still silly. I will never grow up!
I left a note on my sexy neighbor/maintenance man's door about a problem with my window. I asked him if he could come on Wednesday to fix it, but he left a note saying he couldn't do it Wednesday, but he could on Thursday and that he wished I would get better soon (we met in the stairway the other day and compared physical states).

I left another note for him, saying that Thursday would be ok and I drew him a cartoon depicting the different stages of my condition (kino:yesterday, kyo:today & ashita: tomorrow). I think he will think it's funny that I gave my cold an honorific title, "Kaze san".

I am reminded of the Griffin and Sabine series of books and how much I would like a correspondence like that. I would like to leave silly or cryptic little notes on Obata-san's door and have him do the same. No freaking out, no expectations, just little nuggets of fun and wonder.
I was in my tatami room when I heard him move the magnets on my door to post his note. I imagined him there and the different steps/feelings that he went through from first seeing my note and then the answering and delivering of his response.
I wonder if he would understand?
