I don't know about you, but I was sick of seeing the same entry for two weeks. My internet at home has been down. I just wrote a long entry about my dad's visit, but POOF! it disappeared. It wasn't Diaryland's fault either.So I am too tired now to restate what I wrote, so I will wait until later.
Suffice it to say for now that I had a great time showing my Dad around all of my little haunts in Ogaki.
I went to a festival last weekend and took a picture with my "Yummy Guy" Camera.
He was selling character face masks for children. I took a few pictures surreptitiously and then realized that I had seen him before at other festivals. I'll have to keep my eye out for him from now on.
I got a new cellphone! I don't have the English manuals yet for the J-P51, but I have been putzing around with it enough to be able to take pictures of my friends with the integrated CCD camera and attach them to their telephone numbers so that when they call me, their picture comes up on my screen. It can also make a 5 sec video, access the internet, etc. It's cool and better yet, it was free too. My bill should run about 5400 yen a month (US$ 43) with 120 free minutes. Is that comparable to cellphones stateside?
I also got a new bicycle which is a luscious orange color with a huge basket. It doesn't have the get up and go of my old bicycle, but it sure is purty. I have four locks to keep it from riding away (both John and Brian have had their bikes stolen).
