I found the G-spot in my foot today. Booooooyyyeee Howwwdeee!
"Hello?" I moaned into my cellphone as I sat in a chair, my feet swallowed in a knobbly machine that was punching, kneading and rolling them all over.
"Kim? Where are you? Are you ok?" asked Ivan. Ivan and John had just arrived at Eden HyperMedia Mart. I answered in the affirmative and gave them directions to my hiding place in the store. Thirty seconds later they found me and Ivan snapped a picture of my pleasure for posterity. I told them that the machine was definitely going to be a birthday present to myself this year, even though I knew that I would never be on time to work again and that my feet would be bloody, pulpy stumps.
I didn't hang out much with the boys today. They went on their way actually after saying 'hey'. They wanted to get John a library card and then get something to eat. I was content browsing two of my favorite stores in town and then I went on to other pursuits of the day.
One of my high school students has "cool hair". At least he thinks so, as do the countless number of high school girls not in my class that stand outside the window and drool over him. For "Show & Tell" one day, he pulled a red container out of his bag. On the top was written:
GERAID
for Men
Fiber in Wax
Claim of wild & beautiful
Can't stand being just like other guy
Make your skin & hair beautiful
Apparently this beauty aid was the secret to his cool hair. I asked him where he got it and he said he got it at his favorite convenience store, Lawson.
So guess what? I am now the proud owner of some GERAID for Men (wasn't any for women)! Of course, I have been told my hair is cool as well. Everyone keeps asking me when I dyed it gray. Tee hee. They are very shocked when I tell them that it's my natural color.
I stopped by my hair salon today as a matter of fact. I saw that Hideki and crew were just standing around, so I popped in to say hi. The next time I go in for a hair cut, we're going to take a picture of it and see if we can get into Mod's Hair magazine. Now THAT would be really cool! Hideki let me know that his birthday is on Oct 18 and that he will be 27.
Speaking of cool looks, how do you like the new layout? It's still under construction, but feel free to browse the origami paper squares and explore, especially the designer's link in the lower left hand corner.
Between the hair product acquisition and the social chat at the salon, I got my front bicycle tire changed. I'm the type to change everything at once whether it needs it or not, but after the guy said that two tires would cost just about as much as a new bicycle, I balked and considered running away until he bent down and got a good look at the back tire and said it was ok. So I just got one new tire. This is the same place where months ago I got my helmet, which it turns out, is not a bicycle helmet, but a motorcycle helmet. DUH! Shows how much I know about bicycling.
Reminds me of the other day when I was out shopping for a gift for Yuko-chan of Bizen. We were meeting for lunch and I wanted to get her some flowers. I stopped at this one shop and the man came out and asked me what I was looking for. I wasn't sure. He then pointed down the road to another flower shop and said I might go there. That was a little surprising to me until I pointed to a bunch of flowers and asked how much they were. The man made a pained face and said about 4 sentences in Japanese. I pulled out my dictionary to try and decipher what they all meant, but before I got very far he tried out some English . . .
"Buddah . . .praying . . ." Ahhhh, I thought to myself and then I said "Omiyage (present)" and the man once again indicated the shop down the street as he begged my pardon for not being able to help me. Yes, it might have been a little embarrassing giving Yuko a funeral flower arrangement, so I bought her three creamy orangey-pink roses instead.
The night is mine to do whatever I want! Ivan has plans and John is off on his own as well. Ivan is leaving Japan in 10 days, so his social calendar is jam packed. I have to work tomorrow though. I think I will catch up on some entries that have been hanging around inside me for a while.
