Hide told me that he and Ivan have to go to South Korea to get Ivan's visa. They are leaving early tomorrow and will be back on Tuesday. Hmm, so the rumors that you can get a working visa IN Japan are false? I guess at least in Ivan's case.
Fred, Chad and I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken today. Good ol' KFC without mashed potatoes and gravy. The biscuits were different too. I was soo wanting a yummy, fluffy KFC biscuit. Hey, you can get a 10 piece bucket of only chicken for $18!
After lunch, Fred took me to the Marunouchi branch. I had good classes there last time and this evening's class with the 8th graders was FANTASTIC!! They caught on so fast and understood and listened and obeyed and spoke!! They were a teacher's dream. I am also very happy with the exercise that I chose for them tonight. I will adapt it to use with the lower lever students as well.
It went like this:
After we went through the basic getting to know you questions, I practiced "Do you like to _(swim)___?" and "Do you like _(swimming)_?", so they could use the infinitives and the -ing forms. Once they got that down they had to go around the room asking all their classmates if they liked the particular items on the sheet (pokemon, trip to America, playing the piano, etc.) That means they each had to ask and answer those questions many times over. I heard English everywhere and they looked like they were enjoying themselves too! After they sat down they read one sentence that usually started with a classmate's name ie: "Hanae likes to swim." Then it was Hanae's turn to read a sentence about one of her friends and so on.
I complimented them many times and I truly meant it. I was thoroughly impressed.
I came home with a growling tummy. It was 10pm and I hate eating late, but I knew I had some email and journaling to take care of, so I reheated the soup I made for lunch. Remember the soup I had the other day? Well, instead of meat, I added potatoes, broccoli, and pumpkin squash to the noodles and sauce. It was really quite tasty.
Tomorrow is my day off and I hope some nice shops are open. I would like to do some browsing. I may first walk to Suitopia to see if the center is open. I saw an interesting photography display there when I went for my Japanese lesson that I would like to check out again.
Ja mata neh,
